Soft top for 1st gen

Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone knows of a good place to get a soft top for my 4runner, if they still make them?? I'm very happy to have one shipped over here.

Whatever you do, do not order from WabFab. It's been 2months and I still have not recieved item that I had purchased. (Bikini Top) this guy does not reply promptly. I will never purchase anything from him again!! I will surely pass this info on even to the mags that he has his items on as well.
 
I have a Softtopper and love it! I've had it for about 4 years and it is still in top condition. I head great things about Killer Toy Tops too but don't have any personal experience with them. If something was to happen to the Softtopper, I'd get another one no questions about it.

I was thinking about doing that exact same thing Sam. But I want to be able to have a rack up there, so I am going to eventually end up having the tube come down and tie into sliders and bumper for strength; then a few cross bars not only for support, but that I can use like a ladder to get up to the rack.

Anyway - here are some pics of the Softtopper:

I got it with the tinted windows:


You have to bend the header bar yourself - it was very easy to do:


















In this pic you can see how the sides stick way out beyond the backwindow and looks really sloppy:


I started to roll the sides up into the back window - looks much cleaner to me:


and it helps turn the bed into an awesome tent:

I dont normally drop the top all the way, but its relatively easy. It requires removing the 2 pins on the sides, carrying the top behind the truck, folding it up, and then pinning it back in. Kinda a PIA, but its about the only way I figured out how to do it. Even softopper has the same instructions for the truck racks and softtop.

Well the way I built it, it will accept a basket up there in the back. As is, theres a flat rack with tiedowns for my kayak. I thought about tieing into the sliders, but it needed to be removable for the winter when I throw the hardtop back on. Otherwise its been one of the best mods Ive done for my truck. I can carry my mountain bike on it, a kayak, and cooler. Oh and yes I agree the topper makes a great bed tent haha.

Thanks for the photos lofreqjeff! Looks good!!! With the softoppers, is it possible to open up the whole roof completely like when you remove the fibreglass roofs?? And how easy/hard is it to do that??
