I remember a while back, not sure who it was but they 3D printed it and mounted it on the pillar where SR5 and TRD are usually located. Anyone know who this was, and/or if they're selling them? Me likey

Thoughts about applying these with automotive adhesive (same stuff used to reapply plasti dipped front/back emblems-4Runner lettering) to the paint on the side of the vehicle? If you did want to take these off at a later date I can't imagine that leaving the paint intact...

Or is there another preferred method for application?

you'd think they'd make one for the SR5 Premium, because that's way more rad than the trail :p But really. I wish they had some for sr5

In my sig. The black (or any color) strong and flexible are about $12 each plus shipping. (you just missed out on free shipping last week).

3m VHB foam back tape. This one in particular has the thinnest foam backing. You can get whatever size you need this is for 1.25" wide by 5 yds.

Of course you can use any double sided foam back tape you like. Autoparts stores sell it by the roll for $5-10. Can't vouch for the quality though.

? :)

I used the 3M VHB to attach mine and am very happy so far. I haven't tried (and have no intention of trying) to take them back off. I'll likely be hitting a car wash soon and will see how they hold up.

cheeser People have bought Stainless Steel and Matte Black Steel. I have not heard from them as to how they came out. They did get successful prints.

I was actually just asking a friend about a chrome dip or similar.

I have been checking other models that have been printed in metals, stepping is still visible on some but not on others. I would tend to stick with the plastic versions, at least until I can confirm how a metal print comes out. I am just not confident enough to drop $70 on a metal print... yet :) They will be a bit heavier too.

jrandom thanks for your your thoughts. Didn't want to drop that much on metal if it wasn't a fairly smooth finish...was looking at metal.

funny thing is i thought i deleted this thread lol!

Glad you didn't :) It is much cleaner than the last one.

As I understand it, models smaller than 6"x6"x6" get tumbled in media to smooth and polish. Models larger, like this emblem would be sand blasted by hand, I believe that is some of the reason for the big jump in price
