Something loose in steering? Help me diagnose.

Hi All. This has been going on for a while but seems to be getting worse.

Whenever I hit a bump big or small I can feel it in the steering wheel. Like a wobble. It feels like there is something loose. It almost feels like the steering wheel jumps up and down with the bumps slightly.

Sometimes when I hit a bump it will jerk my steering wheel one way or the other.

Could this be tie rods? Maybe just need an alignment? I have an 04 Sport.

Since you have a lift -I would check the Driveshaft's/boots for leaking/tearing. Also while your down there you can check the other linkages, swaybars etc.

there is an adjustment you can make to the steering column to cure this. it is a very common issue, mine used to do this all the time when off road:

there is a coupler in the steering assembly that you need to loosen and remove slack from. there is another thread the was posted on today that has pics up to show what to adjust. just remember to not remove all the slack. but this will fix your noise:guitar3:

no noise. Just a wobble in the steering. Still cant figure it out.

Hello, I have the same problem on my 08, when ever i go over bumbs the steering feels loose and sloppy. Did u ever find/fix the problem?
