How DOES that work? If only someone had posted a link to an article that lists ways a vehicle could get a salvage title without voiding the warranty...:doh:

2013 Mercedes E550 4-Matic for like 95% of clean title price

in the ad you'd see: "only has a rebuilt title due to small (yeah right) damage to driver's door, you drive the car not the title" or "had a tiny amount of water in one foot well during last winter's (massive) flooding, no other problems with electrics and like new, contact Vlad or Muhammad al Hakim."

I think they hope no one will find out how much it really takes to salvage a new and expensive car. I used to work with auto body shops at my college job and would see MASSIVE damage to a new Corvette, Mercedes, or Lexus et al. and always think it was going to be salvaged, but the insurance companies would repair them. Sometimes newer trucks would even get all new frames and airbags and still not be salvaged.

While it’s certainly Politically Incorrect to profile names….
claims by “Vlad" or "Muhammad al Hakim” of a “tiny amount of water in one footwell” should be investigated throughly. That water might well have run in though the open window while the car was submerged up to the window on that side!
