There is a way to mount your hid kit without drilling the dust covers. The bottom of the headlight housing has an opening where the stock wires run through a rubber stopper. You can disconnect the stock wires and pull them out with the stopper and run your HID kit wires through that opening. I don't know about your kit, but my TRS kit already had a replacement stopper around the new wires that fit perfectly in the original opening. This way, everything can be undone in five minutes.
 
I could no longer stand the anxiety of waiting for my Gobi to ship (any day now) and needed some parts for the quick fix!

Was given a quick turnaround by RCI on aluminum Transmission & Transfer Case skids to compliment the recently installed Front unit. Can't wait to have those in a couple of days.
 
Again totally impressed with RCI....aluminum tranny and tc skids went on today to compliment the few week old front.

Then tonight I see where RCI has just released KDSS-compatable a-arm skids in aluminum, along with sliders. Back to Josh I go...

 
Stance is so much better with the Spidertrax.....slight bit of rubbage on the front plastic (not fender liner but lower front bumper and rear black plastic trim). Will trim as necessary. Still waiting on my RCI sliders, A-arm skids and RI D2 Fog kit to arrive any day now!





 
Just a few updated pics of recent mods and trips, mainly: RCI rails, RCI a-arm skids, Rigid D2 driving lamps and the rear diff breather that you cant see.

Next up:
- Pelfreybilt hidden winch mount / winch / Factor 5 (still putting this together)
- CVT Awning / RTT (still trying to decide on the model I want)
- more Rigids (as funds allow)











 
Beautiful truck! I'm curious - do you install the lift yourself or have someone else do it? I want to lift mine, but dont have the know-how or tools.

Thanks for the compliment. Lifting yourself is definitely doable if you have the right tools, facilities and decent mechanical aptitude, however if doubts persist in any of those categories I'd just pay someone for the install (or better yet, find a mechanic friend that can do it and watch/learn/assist throughout the process).

In my case, I did not lift this one on my own because at the time I didn't have access to a lift nor heated shop in the dead of winter. Plus, if you have the KDSS system it helps to have some extra muscle on hand to help put things back in place.

Thankfully, over the past year I've gained access to a lift, shop, and more tools that I could ever imagine so I do most everything on my own, shadetree style.
 
On the Toyo AT2s....

In the past, I always ran Toyo MT and still swear by those tires.
At the time when I put tires on this new rig last year, I didn't plan on wheeling it too much just yet, and figured that the AT2s were a good compromise to the MTs that I was used to. I was so impressed the first time I took the new '15 out that it is now my go-to for all offroad / overland excursions, and I use it fully the way it was meant.

Having said that, the ONLY complaint I have on the AT2s is I miss the look of beefier lugs & sidewalls that you get with the MTs. These AT2s are great on the highway and towing, no complaints whatsoever running 40psi on load range E. Off road, in the mud, snow, rocks, crawling, etc. where do I start? Air them down a little, and I've experienced no differences between the MTs that I'm used to. Sidewall strength is amazing and they can take a beating in the sharp stuff.

While my next set might be the R/T or MT, again just for the look, I swear by the Load Range E Toyos and will not run anything else. If you want rubber that is a little more subtle yet still outperforms many others on the trail, then the AT2 is your tire.
 
I appreciate the information on the AT2's. I have ran nothing but Toyo's on my F-150 since I've owned it and I have loved them! My M/T's have been amazing on road and off, going with a set of those for my Wife's 4Runner just isn't necessary. The AT2's it will be, pretty much had my mind made up and you just sealed the deal. I like the idea of your build! I am considering the exact same lift kit, but don't want to go higher than 2.5" in the front with the BOSS coil overs. I am debating whether I should get the regular or HD springs in the rear as I also have a roof top tent and carry gear around back there... problem is I don't want the rear to be excessively high once I take the gear and tent out.

Your pictures links are broken, any insight to why you chose to go with that or side pictures of your set-up?

Just picked up a 16 Trail w/ Kdss in white for the wifey 2 days ago. Ive run AT2's on my pro4x mid travel'd titan (its now just stock with leveling kit :/ ) now for the last 70k miles (on my second set) I love them but i think for the grocery getter i'll go with the RT's. IMO they'll look better like you said. The AT2's are unreal off road though considering they're an all terrain.

40psi seems kinda high no? Even on the titan i bump them down to 35 to make it comfy and make the wear more even.
