Ok, so a follow up question. Seems like the Denso plugs are a bit pricier but a bit better, correct? Additionally...I believe the Denso plugs are "OEM" but what about the wires? Best to stick with OEM, or can anyone recommend 'the best' wire set to get?
OEM wires were actually Sumitomos (they had the year printed on the cable so you will know they are original if you see some) and are not available here. Dealer sells Densos as replacements but LOTS of us are using the the NGK TE66 Wire Set that goes for $30 on Amazon and lots of other places. I'd say either are fine.
As stated above, both NGK and Denso plugs were used at the factory, but the dealer only sells Densos as replacements. [Legend has it that the left and right heads were assembled in different factories and Toyota had a different plug supplier for each.] I have used NGK's since the 30K service (138K now) and it has run great. Again, either the Denso or NGK are fine, in my opinion. (Dual electrode copper, and change at 30K).
