Spark Plugish kinda question

I'm almost certain of the answer I will get, but I'll throw it out there anyway.

Last weekend I did a quick "tune up" on my 4Runner, Plugs, PCV, air filter, cleaned throttle body and MAS.

I used E3 Diamond Cut plugs (got a good deal on them). Since I did all this, I've noticed that my engine is running quieter and the exhaust isn't as loud. Start up was better, now it cranks just a tiny bit longer. I also noticed that I have to press the pedal a little harder to get her to move or slam it to get alot of power. I know I am lifted and larger tires will cause a power loss.

Recently I have also replaced the alternator, pass. cv, L and R LBJ and steering guide.

To what I think the answer is...Am I to assume that those E3 plugs may be the issue with "power loss"? (Flame suit on, haha)

Thanks
Bob

If the loss happened right after changing the plugs, I would assume the plugs are the culprit. However, I'm surprised that fresh plugs (regardless of which plugs they are) would result in a loss of power.

Also, I've heard of issues with plugs other than Denso (OEM) and NGK. You sure you got the plug wires in the right places? :ak472:

These engines ONLY run right with the factory-spec Denso or NGK plugs. There are innumerable tales of problems with other plugs. With the waste spark system every part has to right, or there will be marginal performance.:infidel:

Finally bought a set of NGK Plugs and WOW the difference. Yup, should of just waited to get the NGKs and not wasted the money on the E3s.

Lesson Learned...again.

Spark Plug Question?

Hello all, not sure if anyone can help... Don't ask why but I decided to go through my Owner Manual and my "Passport" to Service Manual.

I keep reading about everyone changing plugs at 30k, but my manual says 60k.. Last time my vehicle was in Service they told me 100k, but the owner manual states for my motor 60k, so I'm not sure why the dealer would tell me 100k.

What is the best plug I can get? Shall I just get the dealer plugs which will last me another 60k? or get something that I see in everyone's post changing at 30k.

Thanks so much...

for the love of god dont use bosch or any other junk on toyota's only use ngk or factory denso plugs same goes for the wires

Thank you so much.... If I go with the factory plugs, can I upgrade to the Iridum or whatever they are referred to or shall I just stick with the same thing that I currently have in the vehicle... This will be the first time that the plugs are being changed...

THanks again..

Better idea to ask the people in the 4th gen section.

Nevertheless, it's just a spark plug. Factory will do you fine. No spark plug will change anything for you on a stock motor (our stock engined trucks, specifically)

It's only when you start messing with engine components and forced induction that you might need different plugs, that's only for heat resistance.

All I have is an intake, nothing special.

I will ask in the 4th gen section. But thank you very much.
