SPC UCA Clearance Question

Read through every thread the mentioned "SPC" and did not see the answer.

How much more clearance between the tire and the UCA do you gain at full droop by using the SPC arms? Just test fitted my 315's and I have about .25". Don't really want to go less backspacing on wheels to hopefully limit the front and rear trimming.

Thanks!

1/4" at full droop is PLENTY! [emoji6]
You can take around 1/2" out of the stock arms for more clearance too. Chop, filler plate, done. Just an option.

I had a feeling you would chime in...up in PDX next Wednesday so you can buy me a beer for my birthday.

Also doing the SPC arms to move the tire forward in the well. I decided I do not want to clearance my firewall. I have to say my 34.75" tires look pretty good.

Forward? That will make your caster worse than it is. Maybe that's fine for you, but just wanted to make sure you knew. Non-adjustable aftermarket UCA(ICON, TC, Camburg) are all built to increase caster. Increasing caster(from the top) will move your tire closer to the firewall. Regardless of which way you go with the UBJ, your tire won't move much, because it's center is so close to the LBJ. Moving the LBJ makes a- relatively- much bigger difference. I'm sure you're maxed forward on your lowers; I'm just blabbing.

If he is running 315s and plans on wheeling he needs firewall clearance. On the G setting and maxing lcas, using spc arms to adjust camber he can get 2* caster with a lot of firewall clearance. 2* is still within toyota spec.

Those icon, tc, ect.. just get dirty, squeek like crazy and slam your 315s into firewall.

My brother runs icons and at full stuff he can't even turn his tires.

I recently installed SPC UCA's and gained 1/4" clearance at full droop with 33's. I'm not sure if that measurement would be the same for 35's.

Hope that helps.

Where are the pics of your's on 35's?

That helps narrow the wheel decision down. I just had one mounted on my spare wheel and was playing with the front last night. Hopefully playing with the rear this afternoon and will stick a pic up.

Dual cases now are waiting for another daily driver to enter the picture - this happened to my wife's Venza on the way to Cannon Beach for her birthday...

All good. Only going about 10mph at impact and it still got totaled. Hit just right so it bent the front rail.

Now I have to find another Venza.

Camber camber camber camber. That's the real key player here. You can shove your LBJ ALL the way forward(maxing caster), and use the SPC to dial back that positive camber.
Gotcha.
Maybe someday it'll stick, and I'll remember SPC's are more than just caster adjustable.

Really sorry to hear about the accident, Steve. I hope neither of you have any lasting aches and pains, and hope insurance isn't a huge PITA to deal with [emoji1374]
