I have a 2005 Sport V8 4wd with about 206k miles.
During longer driving sessions the speedometer will read anywhere between 10-30 mph too high. When stopped, the speedo will settle back down to around 5-15mph when completely stopped. It eventually moves back to zero after a couple of minutes or when turned off for a period of time.
I have replaced all 4 wheel speed sensors so far but am wondering if anyone else has any idea as to why this intermittently happens? I did a search and I've seen this seems to be a semi-common issue but no one has really pinpointed the issue/fix.
