Speedometer Recalibration & MPG on 3rd Gens

Does anyone know which, if any 3rd gen T4Rs have mechanical vs. electronic speedometer sensors?

I'm looking at a couple different rigs, one is a 1996 Limited w/17" tires, if it's not been recalibrated, I'm just wondering if I would need an electronic device, or different speedo gears.

Also, assuming no gears have been changed, how big a difference in MPG would you expect going from 15" to 17" wheels/tires? How about power/driveability difference?

different size wheels wont make the speedo off, only larger tires will. What size are your tires? I can tell you what % your speedo is off.

you have to use an electronic converter (like dakota digital) for the signal coming from the sensor. what we have is not a mechanical gear that can be swapped out, just a sensor looking at the revolutions.
