Spidertrax, 265/70/17s, and chains?

Hey all,

I live on a mountain in VA frequently plagued with a sheet of ice on the steep paved road. I'd like to be able to chain up all four wheels to help on descents, but obviously that's a problem. I'm running an OME lift with 265/70/17 TerraGrapplers, and LR UCAs; while the UCAs have returned my alignment to pre-lift specs, they still don't give me chain clearance, even for cables. I'm considering Spidertrax to give me that room, but am concerned that it'll push things out enough for the chains to tear up the fenders or hit the frame on full turn.

So . . . question: Does anybody run 265/70/17s with Spidertrax that can give me an idea of clearances at full turn? Did you have to cut/trim anywhere? Any chance such a setup will give me room for chains, even if they are only S-rated low-profile ones?

when i had 265/70s and spidertrax i had rubbing on the base of the fender towards the front and on the mudflap on both sides on full lock

i have that set up and i had to move the fender liner forward on the front bumper. I also had to trim the front bumper (inside part) cause it would rub at full lock. The back doesnt rub.

Yeah even without chains you will rub; I have that exact setup---spidertrax, 265/70/17, 2012 SR5 wheels. Just tackled this ptoblem.

Thank you guys for the help - I was afraid that was going to be the answer. I suppose I'll just chain up the rear and hope for the best.

I'm not going to lie; as much as I love my T4R, the inability to put chains on that IFS front is a big Achilles heel, IMO.

Anyway, thanks for the information and help!
