Spidertrax Wheel spacer questions

All pro makes 1.25" spacers also. I've had both, like the all pro better, mainly cause I hate the blue finish on the spidertrax. Both are great quality, don't see a reason to pay more for the spidertrax.

I can say having done many alignments on many vehicles, that yes an alignment would be *recommended*. Anytime you make mods to wheels or suspension whether it seems like it or not you are changing your alignment

I feel like this might be a really stupid question...but what are the benefits of wheel spacers? Advantage/disadvantage of 1.25 vs 1.5"? Is it mostly a cosmetic thing, giving a more aggressive stance?

The 4Runner definitely looks better with a wider track... it helps "fill" the wheel wells, but if you want to run 285's with your stock wheels (or wheels with similar offset) you'll need spacers to get the tire away from the UCA/spindle. The different sizes just come down to preference. I think that even a 1" spacer would give you the clearance you need with 285's, but I'm guessing that most of us like the look of the tire sitting close to flush with the fender.

Spidertrax Caused Rubbing.

Hi everyone,

I installed the spidertrax 1.25" spacers to my stock 2014 4runner limited and noticed this caused my stock tires to rub slightly when turned to the right fully. Has anyone experienced this?

I have now put a Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift and 275/60/20 Terra Grappler g2's on it, and the rubbing is horrible. Have any of you had this experience, and would removing the spidertrax help reduce the rubbing I'm experiencing?

I'm really happy with the looks of the vehicle now, but I don't want to start cutting away at the wheel wells, so if removal of the spacers with greatly reduce the rubbing, or eliminate the issue I will remove them.

Thanks in advance.

Getting rid of the spacers will actually make the rubbing even worse. I had to trim up the front of my bumper and shorten the length of the mudflaps. So yes most people have to do "plastic surgery" to get this to work under the 4Runners. Or go back down a tire size. I still get a little rubbing at max turn in brand new tires and now with worn tires I'll get a little rub at max turn and driving into a driveway etc. This is why you see people start putting on aftermarket UCA's next after doing a lift.

Thanks for the advice. Today I removed the spacers and virtually all rubbing was eliminated. I liked the look of them, but I agree, it's not worth the rubbing or cutting into the wheel wells to eliminate the rubbing. Much happier without them.

Thanks again,

2014 4Runner Limited

where did you guys buy your spacers from? how much?
I bought mine at 4Wheel Parts, but Amazon sells them as well. I haven't found any price difference anywhere on them. I believe you'll end up paying $100 a pair wherever you find them. You will need two pairs, so plan on spending $200 to outfit your vehicle.

eBay -- $100 for a set of 4. Hoping they're good quality... certainly 6061 T6 aluminum and Grade 8 studs sounds like they're equivalent to ones 2x the price. We will see though...

Is there any modifications I need to do to the studs before i install spidertrax 1.25" wheel spacers? For example get extended stud or shave the studs?

nope. they will fit fine. the front studs are not as long as the rear but the stud end will be even with the nut when bolted down. with the spidertrax spacers there are no problems of having to much or to little stud

I am currently running M/T nitto trail 265/70/17. After some reading on the forum i found that with 1.25" speacers there is little rubbing on front tires. My question is does it rub with 1" spacers? I try to avoid rubbing and shaving the fenders/mud guards.

Im running 1.25" Spidertrax Spacers.

Do you need a lift to run the spider trax spacers with stock wheels/tires?

No, just some very minor adjustments to the front fender liners. My Spidertrax thread may be helpful in that it explains what needs to be done. My truck is very close to stock; I have TRD Offroad springs from a '15 Tacoma that netted about an inch of lift in front and FJ springs that netted .5" in back.

So I installed them today. I have an 04 Limted AWD with stock 5th gen SR5 wheels and the factory tires they came with.

I'm not getting any rubbing on the front on the car. But I do get rubbing on the mudflap.

Weird huh?

The wheel wells are different on the ‘03-‘05s, right? Squared off? That’s my best guess.
