The wife texted me this photo :banana: I feel like a kid on Christmas morning. Freight box appears to protect the bumper fairly well. Can't wait to get this bad boy on.
FYI - I was #76 on the order list, so not sure if its going by the list.

I received my 5th Gen sliders last Thursday. I installed them on Saturday. Very impressed with build quality and design. The powder coated finish is fantastic as well. My only complaint are the install instructions. May as well not even bothered with them. Aside from that, not too terribly difficult to install and I did them by myself. Great product. Thanks to all involved in the Group Buy. I sincerely appreciate it!

Just follow up praise/critique about the sliders.
Pro:
- Packaging solution used by Shrockworks is fantastic. Box containing sliders, is filled with injected foam that holds the sliders in place. Not one scratch on either the FJ or 3rd Gen 4Runner sliders.
- FJ Sliders were an easy bolt on. Cleaned up threads first with 8mm tap and everything went smoothly on the install. One person can easily install if you have jack stands to hold them nearly in place.
- Great powdercoating on the product. Will see how it holds up.
- Holes are oval-ed to give you room for adjustment to make sure they line up similarly on both sides.
Con:
- FJ sliders came without directions. Pretty hard to screw up even without directions, but could save some time on helping you determine which side is driver vs. passenger.
- 3rd Gen sliders are not bolt on. I figured i needed to drill an extra hole or two per side. Wrong. There are no preexisting threaded holes in the frame for bolting sliders. There are some holes in frame, but those are largely used to slide in the 'stick-nut' after you have drilled holes. Requires 8 holes to be drilled in frame (4 per side) and you have (4) 1/2" diameter grade 8 bolts holding the slider to the frame per side.
- The stick nuts require a whole lot of bending/manipulating to get the in place to accept the bolt. Definitely a learned skill and got better as time went by. The holes at the bottom of the frame rail are the ones that are difficult to orient the stick bolt properly when you are going in through access holes on the side of the frame. Instructions in no way mention which holes to use or how the stick nuts should be used/positioned. The top bolts on the frame go a bit smoother.
- Drilling the holes was a gigantic pain in the ass. Not only do they need to be accurate, the upper holes are impossible to drill with a conventional drill. Spent hours looking for a 90 degree drill i could rent, but every one around here for rental was huge and wouldn't have fit between body overhang and the top of the frame rail. Looked at pricey 12V and 18V 90 degree drills at home improvement stores and didn't feel like spending $180 plus for battery, charger and 90 degree drill (yeah....I am the last guy in America that doesn't own battery powered hand tools....i like reliability of the plug in kind).
- Ended up looking at Harbor Freight and bought a 90 degree drill for $29.99 and a 90 degree attachment for a regular 3/8" drill for $19.99. Was able to drill the 4 upper holes with the 90 degree attachment and will return the $30 90 degree drill to HF.
- The unibit drill bits they recommended are the way to go. BUT, it is critical that you get the center of the hole marked correctly and/or centerpunched to direct the initial drill bit. Good luck hitting a center punch cleanly to locate the center of the top holes. Anyhow, what I thought might be a 1-2 hour job, became a 6 hour job chasing down tools and installing/removing the sliders multiple times. You 3rd gen guys may know this already, but don't be thinking there is any type of bolt on slider for a 3rd gen. I had in my mind that it would be like the FJ with maybe two out of 8 bolts per side having to be drilled......wrong....every one of them.

ONE other CON on installing rock sliders on the 3rd gen is the fact that the Passenger slider should be installed first before the drivers side. On the passenger slider, the back mounting bracket covers up the ONLY hole to fish the stick nuts through if you try to mount it a little further back, away from the front tires. I mounted the drivers side first (thought it would be tougher to align with the gas tank brackets and all), then when I tried to put the pass. side in relatively the same place (was concerned about eventual larger tire clearance), I couldn't because of the frame access hole. Had to move it forward so the frame access hole was open enough to use. Nobody will EVER notice, but it was a mild annoyance during the install.
Everything else went smoothly, no more or less complicated than putting them on a Jeep. They look great and feel nice and sturdy too.

Pro: look solid, the gray powdercoat is beautiful, and the shipping box was bulletproof.
Cons: not compatible with my RCI skids. The center bracket interferes with the transfer case skid crossmember and, on the driver's side, the rear bracket interferes with the gas tank skid.
I have a friend with plenty of tools, including a plasma cutter, so I suppose we'll notch the brackets to make it fit. I hope...
