Installing on electric seats, any issues or tips on how to

Has anybody had issue installing these on the electric seats?? I will be getting mine in a few days. As I was waiting for these I bought some knock offs at costco for our camping trip, needless to say, it was a beezy to try to get between the seat and the plastic, and on top of that...I never got to velcro them underneth becuase of the controls :dammit: Any advice?

I got mine yesterday. installed them, drivers side with electric chair was a pain in the tits. The rest went great. The "tan" i ordered didn't quite match the inside of the truck but still looks good enough. The heaters I ordered in the seat worked AWESOME today!! (it as 32 degrees this morning) Ill upload a couple pics in a sec.

Was it hard to get under your driver side seat?? I am going to do mine this weekend and already had issue with the cheapo ones from costco. I couldn't get between the seat and the plastic, any advice on how you did yours?

Yes is was a *****! It took me quite a while to find the spot to put it through. Ill have to go look to find where it was again as I have a short term memory issues

Ill give you another hint! RAISE UP YOUR SEAT! it took me way to long to realize I was making it harder on myself.

Yes, as we all do :wacko: Lol. Raising the seat seems it may work, but I remember giving up trying to push the material through between the seat fabric and the side plastic pieces. Maybe I will see about taking that off to install the seat covers. Or using one of those plastic tools to push the material through, hopefully that wont tear the fabric but this is suppose to be good for pet claws not to go through. So we will see... :shocked:

Just installed the seat covers on our 16 trail! I removed the front seats to install the seat covers. Came out pretty good, will update once the wife has some seat time now that the covers are installed!

Does yours have electric seats or at least a power driver seat? If so, how'd you get it around the carpet flap towards to consel side (driver seat)?

Ours has the driver side electric seat and non power passenger. As far as that carpet flap, I just folded it in half and the seat cover went right over it with no issue. I had to figure out the correct bottom seat cover "according to me" to use since the outer side of the driver seat bottom is kinda tight around the plastic trim near the power seat controls. I tried to remove the plastic seat trim but didn't want to get too involved since it is "only a seat cover".

Oh so I see. I actually pushed the seat cover between the seat and the plastic and was able to avoid it covering the plastic part of the controls. I'm thinking of just cutting off that fabric flap as it doesn't seem to serve a purpose. I was trying to find a video on removing the plastic front becuase I was trying to remove it without breaking any clips. But I was still able to get it between by pushing the straps through first and just yanking it tight.

No I have not. I might try to fold the flap before cutting off. I am going to try tomorrow when I have time to mess with them. I couldn't get the flaps to line up on the backing part either. It's really loose. I emailed Wet Okale about the loose fabric and they haven't responded yet. They do their purpose so I'm going to keep them.

I torqued the seat rail bolts to 35 lb ft based on checking the seat rail bolts with my digital torque wrench before removing them. I applied blue loctite to the seat rail bolts for piece of mind prior to installing them.

I torqued the seat rail bolts to 35 lb ft based on checking the seat rail bolts with my digital torque wrench before removing them. I applied blue loctite to the seat rail bolts for piece of mind prior to installing them.

You got it..removing the seats are the best way to install to ensure a perfect fit with powered seats or not

Well I just went ahead and purchased the rears (to match my fronts that Ive been very happy with) today, so undoubtedly there will be a group buy that pops up approximately three days from now. For anyone wondering, I went with the taupe color with full black piping and it's a good match for the oak color 3rd Gen.

They've held up better than I expected so far. I've only had to clean them twice so far. I have previously used a very watered down mixture of Dr. Bronner's soap in a spray bottle and a towel to clean them, but I also broke down and ordered an actual branded care kit with this newest order. Overall very satisfied.

Edit: If you've got the 2-tone oak colored leather interior, then the taupe color from Wet Okole is a very close match to the leather door insert color. Also, when could a buddy/guy/friend expect Ellis Precision to make a 3rd Gen battery clamp?

Wondering the same thing however came across clazzio covers and for the same price they seam better. Anyone have input on this?
