I have a 2003 Limited v8. When i bought it the XREAS system was DONE so I took that out and put new 5100s in. Well it seems like the RAS is now just about done as well so its time to replace that.
All I've seen says that the RAS is stupid expensive to replace and I'm better just swapping it out for springs. So from my limited ability to parse the large amounts of data available here.... It looks like a good option is to find springs off of a new "TE" or "Off Road" edition Gen5 and use the MetalTech conversion kit.
Has anyone done this before or can tell me if this is a bad idea? Just had to buy the wife a brand new car so I'm hoping to keep costs down.
Also, does anyone have any secrets on how to find the two Secondary Spring Seats for less than the $77 PER that I was quoted by the dealership?
