SR5 Flares and HD-SKO Sliders

Ok guys,

Going to get sliders for my 4Runner. Have decided to go with Shubbs HD-SKO's. This is a big step for my 4Runner. I have the SR5 Flares w/ front mud flap. How well will the sliders work with the flares? I'm considering cutting the rear front part of the flares that hang down (in front of the rear tires) to allow room for longer sliders. Is that worth the effort?

I have a different brand of sliders, but most likely same length. I would not have been able to have those flaps on and mount the sliders. I also had to cut the rear flare about 4 inches. I just painted the white where the mud flap was, and you really can't tell that the flare doesn't go all the way down.

I just installed my HD SKO sliders with sr5 mud guards intact. Make sure you specify that your truck has the added sr5 flaps when you call in your order. He makes the sliders slightly shorter to fit. Got mine welded on last weekend....they fit like a glove!

Stubbs HD-SKO SR5 Mud flaps, no body lift version

When I called in to order, Richard asked me all the important questions about my rig. He had all the ends handled and made sure I got exactly what I needed. Great service, great product. They are made shorter for rigs with the mud flaps, just be sure to specify. My sliders are gently touching the mud flaps/flares front and rear, installed with a 7/16th gap between slider and pinch weld.

I'm planning on keeping the front mud flap. What I was thinking about was cutting the flare in the forth picture to extend the slider a little more if he will make it that way. Assuming an inch more of slider will protect better?

Well I went over to Sonoran Steel and talked to Steve. We did some measurements and he is going to order 65 1/2 inch HD-SKO sliders for my 4Runner. Not sure if that is shorter or longer them most of the sliders out there.

Like 1blink said - Richard @ Stubbs knows the right length. I have the same setup. '97 SR5 with mudflaps HD-SKO fits great.

I installed the BAMF sliders and will need to 'adjust' my SR5 flares. I was thinking of trying a heat gun and bending the plastic to compensate for the slider.

Anyone have luck with heating the plastic?
