SR5/Limited parts swap.

I have two '03s, an SR5 V6 which I have owned since new, and a Limited V8 which I picked up from the original owner a year ago. The SR5 has 124k, while the Limited has 269k. Even with the high mileage, the Limited runs great, and the SR5 has always been great. Here is my dilemma, after fixing things that needed to be attended to on the Limited, I had talked myself into keeping it and selling the SR5. But, I am not getting the offers I had expected. I know it is not cherry (I would list it as good to fair according to KBB), and they suggest it is worth 7,300 as a private sale value. I priced it at 6,500 to get it to move. All I have been getting is low-ball offers from people who won't even take the time to come look at it.

And, a possible job/business offer has come up that may require me to make weekly drives of about 200 miles each way. Being retired (somewhat), I now only put about 75-100 miles a week on the V8, which is the original reason for keeping the V8. If I go with the new opportunity, I am now thinking keeping the V6 is a better choice, considering the addition driving I will be doing.

So, (sorry about the history, but I felt it would explain why I am doing this) If I do keep the SR5, I am thinking about swapping some of the goodies from the Limited to the SR5. (with the high mileage, I don't expect to get a lot of serious interest in it, so swapping in the SR5 stuff probably won't impact the sale price a whole lot, I hope).

I am thinking of installing the JVC system, steering wheel w/controls, heated side mirrors, and maybe the heated leather seats. My main concern is that the SR5 wiring harness's will have the necessary connectors to accept all the hardware, without having to gut it from the Limited. Any thoughts on if this plan is workable without major modifications? Thanks.

Can't speak to the JVC unit or steering wheel, but the heated mirrors will work.

I replaced my SR5 non-heated with after market heated and it was plug and play as the harness in the door does power the heated system in the mirrors.

The mirrors, as previously stated, work fine. I'd imagine the seats would be the same, but with a much more involved install. The steering wheel controls should be able to be swapped too, but I would not transport the JBL. It's a huge pain to work with. Instead I would invest into a new head unit for ~$200, some fairly inexpensive speakers ($100 for 4 2-way), and a little powered sub (like a sound ordinance -- $150 or so). It'll sound great, and you'll save yourself a good amount of time and headache with the install. Plus the JBL isn't compatible with anything aftermarket. By swapping it out, you could get AirPlay for Pandora/Nav/whatever you listen to (Bluetooth), phone just like the JBL, and the capacity to expand the audio of you ever went that route...

blue book value is just a reference. You have to look into market value in your area.. Auto trader Craigslist.. See what the vehicle is selling for..

Seats require the addtion of one wire from the fuse box to a junction conector in the pass side kick panel...and i havent worked it out yet i think there is a seat heater ecu i need for seat heaters to work. Limited seats are the bomb!!

Original post is a mute point now. I recently sold the SR5, and am keeping the Limited one, so no parts swap needed.
