'Tis is the season of giving and SCS is in a giving kind of mood. To show our appreciation to the forum and to the members that have supported us thus far, we have come up with a fun and exciting contest that everyone should enjoy. We hope to have everyone engaged so spread the word and let's get this contest going!

There are many folks on here that have showed us a lot of love and would love to rep our wheels if money wasn't an issue. We want to be able to give a free set of our wheels to the most deserving Owner and 4Runner out there. It doesn't matter if your truck is completely stock or fully modded out. We want to hear your story, your journey with your truck, and your passion for this hobby. Share with all of us your connection to your 4Runner.

Get your writing "A" game up and bust out the camera. Share your story, pictures, and see where it takes you. All entries are welcome and you have until December 20th to join in on all the fun. We will pick out 10 finalist and post these 10 in a new thread for all members to vote on. The winner will be whoever has the most votes on December 31st.

Remember, its' not about who has the best looking truck. It's about who's most deserving of a nice gift from SCS based on their connection to their truck and their fondness for this hobby.

We expect everyone to behave like mature adults and keep this thread fun! SCS fully expects the winner to use the wheels on their personal truck. We don't want anyone trying to win a set just to turn around and make a quick buck. That would defeat the purpose of this "most deserving" gift idea. All members will keep check on each other to keep things honest. If the gift is abused, we will have to cease this offering so don't spoil it for everyone else. We hope to offer this every winter season from now on forth so even if you don't win this year, there's always next season.

The owner is welcome to use the wheels as they please. What I meant was that I hope someone doesn't try to win a set and turn around to sell it. We want the winner to be someone who truly deserves it, is a fan of SCS wheels, and will put it to good use.

Why Me? My Dad purchased this 4Runner in April 1996 with the intention of me driving it to high school. July 1996 I was born and taken home in this truck. Fast forward to 2012 and I was driving that very same 4Runner to school on my very first day of Junior year. The bottom line is I'm going to be with this 4Runner for a long time. I will run this thing into the ground, hopefully sporting your wheels. However, being a senior in high school my income is minimal (minimum wage). The only time I can really afford major mods is over summer when I work 40 hour weeks. I can't justify spending money on wheels that I would otherwise spend on gas, so thanks for this wonderful opportunity. I really enjoy photography, it's one of my main hobbies, I would love to sport your wheels and photograph them wherever my adventure of a 4Runner takes me. I feel some Matte Gray F5's would compliment my Evergreen Pearl nicely, as well as be a suitable replacement for my OEM wheels. I've been sporting your window decal for over a year now and received countless questions on it, always of course referring them to your website.

This is an awesome thing for you guys to do! Well heres my story weather its cool or not but I am 19 my first car when i was 15 i started out with a pretty nice 98 f150 and man did i baby that thing till the day i sold it and it was a sad day to see it go but it was time for a newer more reliable car since I like to venture pretty far so it took me a year or so to decide what i really wanted but deep down I new i wanted a 4runner so i join this forum a while back to see what these things are really capable of and man these things are beast!!! So then the search for the perfect car… it took me for ever to find what i wanted and one night i found it and showed my parents and they said that we would go look at it tomorrow. This was a shock seeing that i showed them cars constantly and they would nod and say oh thats nice. So back the story, we drove about an hour away to go look at it and i scanned that thing head to toe and then the sales man was nice enough to let me take it off road with him on the test drive to make sure everything was working properly. We got back and i had gave my mom the "i love it look" but we told the sales man not to sell it because we where really interested and we would go home and discuss it and give him a call later. I could not stop thinking about having that car on the way home but we had to discuss all the finances on it and it turned out to be perfect and my parents where nice enough to co-sign for me and the next day we drove back to pick it up I was so excited i couldn't get over it! On the way home I was driving it and then it just started to down poor and then the high way came to a dead stop and I was thinking why not use the car for what its made for… So i hoped the curb and drove through its probably first mud bath and from then on I was in love with my car because it performed flawlessly. Now I drive it everywhere with ease weather its rain, snow, ice, mud it'll do it. Then i got a raise at my job so i started to save up the extra money so i got just enough to buy just what i wanted for now which is my bumper lift and soon to be tires i wish i could get a set of your rims but the money has to go into other things like gas and food and all those other boring things for now and I'm not much for after market rims but yours are just amazing! i would really rep these things and i do spread the word of you guys cause you have a quality product but mine are not looking so pretty right now but heres some pictures but I can't wait to see her roll another 100,000 on top of the 100,000 she already has.

This is my 1992 4runner 22re with the full sr5 package. I bought it in February of 2011 bone stock besides a set of running boards. I am involved in doing volunteer Search and Rescue, so I started building it for that purpose. It is not pretty, but it is functional. It has been on hundreds of missions and has never failed me. It has also been on the local news dozens of times. I have had countless nights sleeping in the back. I regularly bring it out wheeling whenever I get the time to get out. I am also involved with a local 4x4 group that is 100% non-profit. We support a charity called candlelighters, they help families that have children suffering from cancer.
I currently am on a set of 15x10" sawtooth steelies out of the 90s that are plastidipped because I am not a fan of chrome. I think a set of SCS wheels would look sweet on my runner.
Lots of blood, seat, and tears have gone into my rig. I love the fact that I get to use my 4runner to help people. Oftentimes it's people I will never meet.

Great idea Vin! I'm really looking forward to reading some well-written stories with some excellent photos to match.

Props to SCS for giving back - not many companies are so open and connected directly to their market base and I think that's part of why SCS is so popular. You take our ideas and feedback and give us products and options that we actually want. This contest rules and best of luck to all the contestants!!

Alrighty I'll try my hand at this.

I'm a lucky teenager who got this awesome vehicle when I turned 16. It belonged to my uncle, who was killed in the line of duty a couple years ago. My family thought that he would of wanted me to have it so that's how inherited it. I'm hoping he'd like what I've done with his soccer mom-mobile. He always wanted to mod it out but having 3 little kids and being a police officer means no money for tires and wheels. I've had the 4runner for about 2 years and all the money I've had has gone towards modding it out. I had no interest in cars let alone offroading until I got this. Now it's basically my life haha.
Anyway I've got a decent amount of mods including a suspension and some armor but I'm still rocking my spray painted stock wheels which I have to touch up every time I go wheeling.
I think some bronze f5s or stealth 6s would look great and give my runner the perfect stance.

my first car was a hand down from my grand father, i had and loved a my 87 crown vic. in the summer of last year it was hit. i did not have much damage other then needing a new door. after that i did not put anymore money into that car and went on a search for something newer.

i was searching for months at FJ's, Tacoma's, scions and anything else toyota i saw. as a kid i grew up with toyotas, my mom had a nice 80's 4runner that we used to take to the beach all the time. i have a lot of nice memories as a kid in my moms old 4runner so i thought i would look at a few

back in september i started a hard search for a newer vehicle that i could afford. being 21 at the time and working part time at just over $9 an hour it was hard to find something i liked and could afford. the end of september last year i got onto auto-trader really quick and found an 09 listed with no information other then it being a silver V6 4WD. i went in that day to find out it had just gotten on the lot and was still full of the 1st owners junk. they cleaned it out and handed me the keys and told be to test it out. i test drove the truck for about an hour without a salesman in the car and had put 50 miles on the thing and new i had to have it. that day i purchased an 09 limited V6 with Xreas and JBL NAV.

this truck has taken almost all of my paychecks sense the day i got it but would never trade it for the world. almost all the mods i have done are things i can do on the cheap. the only mod i have spent a bit of money on is my CBI hitch. next mods on the to do list are 5100's/fj springs and some new wheels and tires. this spring i hope to have enough to get new suspension but will not be able new tires for some time.

i would love to get a set of stealth 6 rims for my truck, they look nice on our trucks but are way out of my price range. the 18" on the limited's are the best looking OEM rims but tires are hard to find. if i was able to get some 17" rims it would open up a wide range of tire options and would save me money in the future. i hope to keep this truck till 250k+ miles and mod as the money allows

would really love to have some SCS rims and they would go great with the SCS sticker on my truck

I got my first runner, a maroon 98 as my 4th car (I bought and sold for a year). It was the first vehicle I really loved. I kept it for a year and ended up selling it to a loving family who drove 5 hours to buy it. It took a lot to sell it as I got my first kiss in that car, it saved my life on many occasions, one of which was driving up a canyon at 3 am in a blizzard. I sold it and got a subaru which after 4 months, I got bored, and began my search for another t4r. It took 9 months but I finally found one, I bought it stock, It is still stock, but once again, I do feel this truck has saved my life once or twice already. I will never sell it and I plan to pass her down to my kids one day.

To say I have a connection with my 4Runners would be an understatement. My Toyota addiction started with a '98 Tacoma which got me through college and whet my whistle in wheeling. When that was recalled, I purchased my '99 IJM 4Runner and swore I would drive that thing forever...then I wrecked it. What I can honestly say (without getting religious) is, that 4Runner kept me safe in an accident that could have changed, or ended my life.
I sought to replace the IJM 4Runner with another '99+ manual. I searched tirelessly, and ended up finding one right here from a fellow T4R.org member. I purchased the new silver 4Runner and began swapping lift parts, the bumper I built, and my non-SCS wheels from the wrecked rig.
I spend a lot of my spare time and money building and modifying my rig to suit my needs. I am an avid mountain biker and outdoorsman; and this truck is a testament to who I am and what I do. My 4Runner gets me where I have to go, and always lets me return home safely...sometimes at its own expense.

My build thread contains both vehicles' stories from hood blackout to rear window MOLLE panel, and everything in between. Thanks SCS and T4R.org for this generous opportunity!

I first fell in love with 4Runner when I was 11 years old. My neighbor had a brand new 1995 4R SR5 and I was just absolutely fascinated by it and the roll down rear window. I've grown up with Toyotas all my life and after joining the military bought an '05 Corolla a couple years in because that's all I could afford at the time. Eventually after a couple of duty station and long ago selling the Corolla, I met my wife and we were stationed in WA. I had bought a Mini Cooper S Countryman All4 keeping with the small somewhat fuel efficient theme I had going and then we decided to get a couple of hunting dogs. We quickly outgrew that and started looking around and my first thought was a 4Runner. We went down to the dealer and took out a '12 SR5 with just the basics for a test drive and then drove with our sales guy to the house to make sure the dog would fit comfortably in the back. Ran some numbers and went back and ended up buying it. This was a win-win for me since it worked for our needs and it was my dream truck. I was looking to start modding it but we had our wedding coming up and then the military dropped the bomb on me that I would be moving and deploying exactly 9 days after our wedding. Looking at the ship I was going to and the schedule of being deployed half the year, my wife and I decided that we would do the "geographic bachelor" thing and live apart so she could keep her job up in WA. This put any and all mods pretty much on hold and we bought an RV for me to live in between deployments, so mods centered totally on making it ready for towing. After that, my money has been solely focused on making the 800 mile one way drives or flying back and forth from CA to WA to spend as much time with her and our dogs as possible between deployments. I would love to rock a set of SCS wheels, I've been looking at aftermarket wheels and tires for a while (the wife harasses me for it and the forum but I don't mind and deep down she's a fan) and these would fit the bill nicely. A First for a First

I bought my first 4Runner this October, I literally research the death out of every thing I buy. This purchase was of the utmost importance that I get the right one. I needed it to tote around my expected daughter. I wanted to make sure it was safe and provided enough to room to haul around her stuff. I also still had to be able to get to my favorite fishing spot. It was the only logical choice after a couple of months of research. I loved the capability, style, and tech that it is packed with. The first ice and snow event this year it has proven to me it was a wise choice indeed. I hope to be able to afford to make it a great trail rig and make it something the daughter wont mind being dropped off at school in. And then be her very first ride knowing how long these rigs last. A set of shoes would be a primer for that build. I hope that a set will come my way so she gets her first ride home in style in a few short months.
