Steering Wheel Removal?

Does anyone have any pointers on how to remove the steering wheel in a 4th gen 4Runner?

I've searched the forums and found a few articles, but they're so dated that most of the pictures are no longer rendering. For example: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/engines-suspension-wheels-tires-audio-accessories/5984-woodgrain-steering-wheel.html or DIY Variable Speed wiper stalk install - Toyota Yaris Forums - Ultimate Yaris Enthusiast Site.

I found a guy who can add thickness and leather to my steering wheel, which should be arriving any day now. So, I'd like some pointers to get me started.

If it works out well, I'll post his contact information in case others are interested as well.

instructions are in the woodgrain steering wheel thread you linked.

Starts on page 2. I believe there are two or three screws on the left/right of the steering wheel, remove those, disconnect the air bag and continue on with replacing the steering wheel.

installation is the exact reverse of removing.

you can remove and install a steering wheel with a philips, a flathead (to remove the cover where the screws are hidden), and 20-30 minutes. 10-15 minutes if you're fast. it's actually very simple.
