Stereo loss of power?

I looked and couldn't find anything pertaining to my question so here it is...
I thought maybe my ears were messed up but I think it may be a loss of "power" somehow. It seems like my system is not as loud, meaning I still have sound but the volume needs to be a lot higher to satisfy my ears... The sub seems to not be booming like it was... Is there a specific fuse for amplification?

Everything seems to work but has less power of that makes any sense.

I listen to music loud and have been happy with my stock set up. I was listening to some studio tracking I did and the bass was very present and rattling everything but now it's not as strong and even with a higher volume number the sound I was getting is not there. I think the sub is working but it's all quiet compared to last week.

Ha! That's what I thought at first but it has been several days now and different music and conditions. My home audio has not suffered the same effects... Something changed but I don't know what.

It's like this, if there was 100 watts supplied, now it's only 25. Reduced volume and clarity no matter the input.

How old is the 4Runner? Most stock speakers are made of paper and degrade over time. Especially if listened to at high volumes or subject to extreme temps. I just replaced all mine because my sound was suffering from the same effects and now it is night and day's difference. I turn my volume knob in small increments instead of several turns and can actually hear the music with the windows open now.

do you have the jbl system in your 4runner? I'm looking to replace my speakers but its hard to find decent 2 ohm speakers that actually fit
