90 3vze v6, 4wd, manual. Dash pot off temporarily to see if it contributed. Still sticks. Looks like it is sitting at idle stop, but if I push lever on throttle at throttle body, with a little pressure, idle is normal at 800 rpm. Normally sticks at 1K, not much, but works on gas milage. No where can I find in FSM where it says anything about adjusting throttle stop screw, it shows it, but no mention of adjusting. I'm deliberating on backing off it just a bit, but thought I would try it out here first. Throttle works smoothly, so if it's binding, it doesn't feel like it. Even if you lubed it, that wouldn't last long. Any suggestions? I'm definitely putting my dashpot back on after I figure this out, makes a big difference in manual trans. Doesn't backfire like some people say would happen. Just a sudden take up of slack in driveline when backing off throttle. It's not the TP either, adjusted that, best thing I ever did too. Responds much better now.
I found it, appears after 200k of use, bushing is worn and causing a bind. Temporarily put a spring pulling back on it, this cures it for time being, though defeats dashpot somewhat. Not sure if I can find someone to fabricate a new bushing, shaft probably wore also. Definitely not buying a throttle body from stealership. Junkjard wouldn't be any better in wear either. Unless a later model would work. I don't have an interchange book, so might have to check some junkyards. You just gotta bet stealership doesn't make a replacement shaft and bushing, Oh no, that would be too cheap. You have to buy $700 TB. Can't make money on nickle and dime parts.
