I have a 95 V6 that makes a loud clanking metal noise for the first minute or so when cold. The noise sounds like it is coming from the passenger side of the engine. Sometimes I can get it to go away by reving the engine or letting off the gas. It does not make the noise when idling. I was thinking maybe an exhaust leak or loose heat shield somewhere. I also found a similar thread that mentioned the water pump. Any ideas?
