strapping tire to stock roof rack.

I have been seeing A lot of people strap their spair tire to stock roof rack with the tire on roof. Is stock roof rack strong enough to hold it or should I look for something else?

I wouldn't do it. Besides stress on the stock rack, it raises your center of gravity, increases wind resistance, and exposes the tire to all sorts of direct UV.

Ya that is true. I hate it under the truck but I don't want to strap it to roll bar and take up space.

I strapped mine only because it was small (stock spare) and I wasn't doing any hard trails..soon after taking it off the rack fell apart LOL.
