Strut Mount Stud Replacement

In prepping for my front Taco TRD Off Road suspension swap, I purchased some KYB Mount Kits and Toytec 1/2" top plate spacers. I pressed out the studs from the KYB Mount Kit and when I went to press in the extended studs from the Toytec kit, the new studs just slide in, no pressing required and one of them actually spins :frusty:

Anyone know if the KYB studs have a larger diameter than the Toytech studs? Or did I just muck it up when I pressed out the KYB studs?

For those that have installed the extended Toytec studs into a stock top hat / strut mount, did you have to press the extended Toytec studs in? Or did they slide all the way in, as mine are with the KYB kit?

I called Toytec Lifts and they said their studs are spec'd to match the OEM top hat (suspension mount) and require some force to install (either pressing or tapping them in).

So I sent an email off to KYB to see if they can provide longer studs with a diameter that matches the SM5640 Mount Kit to accommodate a 1/2" top plate spacer. Waiting to hear back.

After that it's either tack welding the studs to the mount or waiting to get the OEM shocks off, compress the spring, remove and then build up the new shocks, which is what I'm trying to avoid. So much for trying to make it easy on myself...
