Struts and Shocks (Noob help)

Alright, so I recently got an estimate to replace some parts on my 03' 4Runner (V8). The list called for front quick struts, rear shock absorbers, and rear sway bar kit. Did some research and will just pay them for labor, since the parts are cheaper online. KYB is a decently priced brand, so I plan on going with them.

I'm just confused on if struts and shocks are the same thing? It's just confusing now, since I bought this on Amazon (link below) and it says shocks/struts. Can anyone give some advice? Also, when they say rear sway kit, are they just talking about the links? Thanks.

Ah, sorry. I think I realized I bought 4 SHOCKS (if anyone can confirm). Bought them as a set, because they seem to be cheaper altogether, but I will just tell the mechanic to replace all at once. Now I just have to buy the front quick struts, correct? And need clarification on the rear sway bar kit still.

EDIT: Or is it two struts for the front and two shocks for the rear?! Ahhh.

Estimate for '03 Front Struts/Rear Shock

This was an old post but do you remember the cost of the labor/parts for this job? I know nothing about cars and am a woman - therefore, I'm worried about mechanics over-charging me for not knowing what I'm looking at.

Aside from a list of $2700 in repairs, one of the things they said was front struts and rear shocks are leaking. Here's the quote for the front struts and rear shocks alone:

$538 Labor/$349 Parts for the struts
$213 Labor/$206 Parts for shocks

Is this reasonable?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. Knowing whether your 4R is an SR5, Sport, or Limited, and if it’s 4WD will help sort this out.
