Ask away.... I'm new to the 4runner but coming from an FJ Cruiser, it's pretty much the same. Well, mostly.

Wheel spacers kick out the tires 1.25", it gives a wider stance beefier look IMO. I was never a fan of the tires sitting flush to the fender.

I have the stage 2 Icon lift I had on my Fj cruiser. I'm having them rebuilt, then I'll install them on the 4runner.

i did some reading, and what i understand is that stage 2 lift is for better performance. Right?

IMO, it depends on what you're ultimate goal is when off roading. The reason I chose Icons is because of the quality and ride. As far as the different stages, each has its perks.
I have a long ways to go to completely understand myself. Lol. As far as fj, with the stage 2, the difference was the upper control arms. I do suggest changes those when adding a lift.

Most lifts are the same to install. My brother installs mine. I'm more of "tool control". Lol

In time probably. I actually just got a spare set of tires and wheels for off roading purposes only. It's a DD so I'd like to get as much MPG as possible.
I kept 265's on my Fj, even with a 3" lift.

Enough to get me by. I pretty much do all myself. With the exception of recruiting my brothers help. This is my 2nd 4x4 so I'm knowledge when it comes to options and choices. Just limited on actual installation of suspension and engine stuff.

I get by... lol...
