Stuck in mud while off roading

Saw this and thought it was neat. Might have to keep a strap and a short board in the back of the truck from now on... Seems to work well.

Interesting solution.

Unless you have a locker, you might want two straps and two short boards. :thumb:

You would also need to test wheel well clearance to make sure it doesn't hit anywhere AND be very careful to not mount the board too far to the inside where it might grab something else in the wheel well.

Heh an idea to keep in the back of the mind for sure, I always have straps and tiedowns, could even use a branch or something.

I got stuck just last week, but airing down more, digging out behind the wheels, low 4 + ATRAK and locker got me out pretty quick.

It's a good idea if you're really really stuck, but there's a lot to go wrong there. I wouldn't risk it unless absolutely necessary. I also feel like he's in a 2WD ram on street tires...

Yeah, it doesn't look like very challenging terrain for most 4wd runners. Definitely an interesting concept if all else seems to be fruitless.

sometimes ill just keep a 2x4 piece mounted to my racks. just sticking it long-ways as close to the tire as you can get sometimes works.

it usually throws the 2x4 underneath the wheel

I used to use this method when I had to drive through the slush so I want to say that this is very useful way.
