Studs snapped off!?

Tried changing out my lugs today so TRIED taking the lugs off but I guess that's not happening...
Any ideas as to why this happens!? I just snapped the third one off and I'm sorta freaking out. What is going on and why is this going on!?

Too much torque on the lug nuts last time they were installed will cause this. Time for new studs!

Yep, lots of tire shops use an air wrench to install wheels and they tighten the crap out of 'em. I always loosen the lugnuts and re-torque every wheel that's been installed by a shop.

That's funny... Cause I've never let anyone work on my car until I got my tires balanced and that was three days ago.... Weird how the two things line up.[emoji58]

The stud is $4.81 (from toyota) and the lug nuts are either $4.38 (steel wheel) or $5.69 (aluminum wheel). Just had this happen.

Discount is paying for it... I bought lugs but they aren't specific for steel wheels... Hope they're okay
