So I bought my runner in may from a guy named josh at Tucson auto sales. I had it for about 2 weeks and on payday I went to have it serviced at midas. I went in for an alignment but purchased the full inspection just to see what was worn and what may need replacing sooner then later. Anyways, when they removed the rear brake drums they found gobs of gear oil that had leaked from the gear seal which were beyond worn.
This was an even bigger problem because with the heat from the brakes and me living in the desert my mechanic was surprised it hadn't caught fire. I called the dealer and he said my warranty had already expired. Yup 7 day warranty. Should of left it there bit this was the first limited 3rd gen that I had found in 3 months so I worked out a deal to split the cost of the repair. We also got the radiator replaced because there was a crack near the top of it. 600 bucks later the seals were replaced and the bearings which were messed up by the gear oil and the radiator were all new. He had the rear wheels off when I showed up and he was talking about what they replaced. So I start modding since midas said everything else was good and that brings me to today. I kept hearing a slight scrapping sound coming from the rear wheel at slow speeds. Took it back to midas and guess what. Gear oil all over brakes and bearings are shot. They didn't do a Damn thing to the rear. In their defense for the gear oil this time it looked all dried up so it could have been fixed but they didn't clean up the old oil if they did. Called them up yelling and they said to bring it in tomorrow so I'm dropping it off in the morning. I'm taking it to midas right after they finish to know its been done right but just wanted to rant Alittle I guess my lesson is learned and ill know for next time.
