“Sturdy” Console Cover?

Hey all!

I’m asking lots of newbie questions (and yes I search first). But I’m just a bit overwhelmed and underknowleged!

I’m picking up my ‘21 Venture in about 3-4 weeks and just planning ahead.

I take my dog with me everywhere. She likes to stand on the center console with her front paws and they eat at the covering. I obviously want to prevent this from happening.

Is there a center console cover that would withstand this? Also, any “sturdy” seat covers for the back seats?

don't overthink it. once you have it, you'll figure it out. You can put a netting behind the 2 front seat so that the dog knows he is off limits. congrats with your new truck.

I recently added a more permanent version of this one which stays on using elastic, and would be easily replaceable if your dog damages it. Mine was glued down and tucked under the plastic without any elastic.

Best part is this material is heavier-duty than the OE cover! At least the cover that came on my 2010...

Canvasback is what you're looking for. I have a Neoprene cover on my armrest, but whenever I have my dogs in the car I always throw the Canvasback armrest cover over top. I also have them on the backs of my seats, work great for protecting the backs of the seats and cargo area

Glue some wheel weights on the underside of your lid. Make it feel “heavier”

Yep. Ii've had the cargo area Canvasback liners practically since day one. I recently got the new console lid cover that allows access to the storage area and it's great. My silly 70 lb mutt loves to stand on that or put her head there and drool all over the console lid. Now I don't have to shoo her off of that any longer and just have to try to keep her on her side of the truck, not my lap.

Canvasback makes some great stuff, and it's all made here in the US to boot.

Exactly. My gal isn’t that big but she’s sturdy. And she loves to stand there and I like her there. So I just want to protect where she stands. Will def be looking at canvasbacks. Thanks man!

My original cover was damaged already which is why I needed the replacement, and I didn’t even bother trying to remove all of the staples and removing it- I glued the new cover right over top. I used a spray adhesive, any one works, just don’t use something that sets instantly so you can peel it back and readjust the fit until it’s perfect all the way around. I did use a couple of those black paper clamps to hold everything tight until the glue set up and recommend doing so with whatever items you have on hand
