Sulphur TSB on 03-04 4runners

In any case, we're getting slightly off topic. The 03-04 V8 can use 91 octane as stated in the manual. The question is, has the Sulfer fix made the use of 91 octane more advantageous than before? I understand that it could just be a random sample that outlies my normal MPG for several reasons -- some of them discussed in the last two posts. That's why I'm asking to see what others have observed.

This brings up another question. Does higher octane fuel contain less sulfur? I mean, it's essentially "distilled," so wouldn't it contain fewer impurities?

Hey guys here is a thought ...... trade em all in and get an 05 NO Smell (after 1 st 3 days ) better engine , better suspension(i think ) and they look kewler too. :0) I use Chevron and Shell and ONLY in regular unleaded . Mostly Shell and i dont let them top off my gas . We have gotten19.2 mpg city right out of the box as an average . Switched to synthetic oil and have had it changed EVER 2500 miles . IT MAKES A DIFFERANCE . i know it shouldnt . BUt you can definately feel the differance when you stomp on the peddle right after . WE BEAT OUR BABY MERCLESSLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Umm, okay? I guess since you change synthetic oil at 2500 miles, you aren't averse to pissing money away. Personally, I don't want to take a bath on a three month old vehicle for a little smell out of the exhaust. Not to mention, that this is something that Toyota should fix.

Do full service gas stations still exist? The only time I've had someone pump the gas for me was on the PA turnpike about 15 years ago. (I told them not to top it off, but he did it anyways. Gas ran down the side of my car!)

Here in Ohio, it's been strickly self-serve since the 70's.

Do full service gas stations still exist? The only time I've had someone pump the gas for me was on the PA turnpike about 15 years ago. (I told them not to top it off, but he did it anyways. Gas ran down the side of my car!)

In Oregon it is against the law to pump your own gas. I am sure there are other states out there like that.

It is a 1000.00 dollar fine if the stations are caught leting you pump you own gas . Only exception is for motorcycles . Normaly they empty the nozzle and hand it to you . I love this state !!!!
I dont work at all at the moment . ALso i dont feel sorry for anyone that will plunk down hard earned cash on something without finding out what they are getting into 1st .

I might be wrong, but I believe that Oregon and New Jersey are the only two states where it is against the law to pump ones own gas. I live in NJ and love this law when the weather is not nice. Plus gas is cheap in NJ. So if they got rid of this law I would not suspect that it would influence the price at the pump, too much.
