Mfg. claims this offers protection during low speed rear end collisions.

Maybe so.

Right now I'm more curious about built in anti-theft features and their effectiveness. I have passed on this question to the mfg. They claim 60 secs.to install. I would wonder how long would it take a thief to uninstall?

Would be interested in hearing from actual owners.

there is no antitheft mechanism other than a locking hitch pin. without a locking hitchpin all you gotta do is remove the pin and pull the super bumper off.

On a side note, I just got one and it definitely feels like a worthy purchase. the rubber bumpers are hefty and will definitely provide some shock absorption vs regular hitch accessories.
