So I installed a supercharger over the winter on my 99 with 122k on it. Have since driven about 3000 miles on it, no engine codes and everything seems good from a performance standard. Changed the PCV valve, and valve cover gaskets when I installed it.
I've never had to add any oil between oil changes but I recently checked the engine oil and it was about a half quart low. I attributed it to short filling it when I changed it 2000 miles before. I filled it up, drove 500 miles, and dumped another half court it to top it off yet again, and this cycle has gone on 4 more times now.
I'm headed out on a 3000 mile mountain road trip leaving tomorrow and have myself convinced that the engine is self destructing with the SC. Not likely but the consumption seems odd. I don't see any significant oil in the intake which leads me away from crankcase pressure issues.
Anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong?
