I've learned a ton about the lift options for newer rigs, but the torsion bar/leaf spring setups I know nothing about. I've got a 88 Pickup (not a 4runner, but close enough since most lifts should fit either) and the suspension is worn. I just bought it and don't know what all has been done. Shocks aren't OEM, but look to be several (5+) years old. The ride at the moment is pretty sloppy, so looking to improve it.
Main use is going to be expo type stuff in the mountains, but will also see some light crawling. This is technically a trail rig, but I want to keep a good ride on road and be able to use it as a daily driver if needed. After some research, it looks like the OME kit would be perfect. I see two kits offered, one with new torsion bars and one without. Would you all suggest getting new torsion bars? I've read mixed reviews on how they ride on road and also how the affect flex. Are there any other "kits" out there that I should consider?
