suspension question

my '01 2wd has 103k on it, and it's really time to change out the suspension. question though, when i change out the struts in the front, will the truck need an alignment afterwards?

Sorta off topic, but my 98 has 113500 on it, how will I know when I need a new suspension?

with that amount of miles on both vehicles in question, YES its time to replace the movable suspension components. Springs(coil and Leaf with new bushings), shocks, ball joints, and control arm bushings if cracked or worn. My 02 Tacoma with 80k miles on them was a major pain to drive because it was wild and wobbly on the highway. Excessive lean, bounce, wobble, dive when braking, and general ass puckering experences while normally driving means it time to do something.

unless there is sag, you really dont have to change anything out except shocks.

many people run above 200K on stock components, changing only the shocks.

how many inches should be between the top of the tire, and the bottom of the fender flare?

Mine had a tad over 100k on the odo when i replaced my shocks and coils and added new bushings and it rides like new.

I have just under 6" at the front and right at 6" at the rear but I also have the taller '99 coils and taller tires.

i'm looking for low cost options now, so i'll probably change out the rear shocks and do the sway arm bushing for now...
