Swap parts between 3rd gen runner and 1st gen taco?

Hey everybody i got an oddball question. I totaled my 99 4runner and wondered if any parts will swap out to my 02 taco? 99 4runner auto 3.4 sr5 - 02 tacoma 2.7L auto sr5. Diff color interior. Obviously engines wont but i wasnt sure about all other misc parts? I am checking before i decide to part out the 4runner.

I have had both vehicles and tried several things. Shocks are different. Floor liners (weathertechs) are different. Headlights, corner lights, taillights, tow hitch, bumpers all different. I think you can probably trade some of the interior such as seats console, they will be different but usable. The only thing I know for sure is the same is the ashtray. Not sure about the front fenders. If you have a question if some thing will fit look on eBay. They are often wrong so look for a couple of opinions. Most Tacomas had 15" wheels and most 4Runners have 16" wheels but the wheels fit each other.

Front differential should be the same. Pretty sure all the transfer cases will fit but might be different actuation Rear diff will be the same if you have the locker in the taco

Lots of front end suspension is the same: UCA, LCA, ITRE, steering rack, c/o's, front skids. The LBJ's and OTRE's are different but can probably be swapped together. The OTRE is a bit smaller and thus so is the mounting location on the LBJ, but you might gain a little turning radius. I know the reverse of the LBJ/ OTRE swap has been gone over multiple times (swapping Taco parts to the T4R).

The Power Brake Booster and some under the other 3.4 accessories are the same but beyond what's already been mentioned I'm not sure what else. Front fenders will not work even though the mounting points are identical. The hoods are different which causes interference.

Edit: oops, just noticed Taco has 2.7 and T4R has the 3.4. Nvm the engine accessories part.

Ok gotcha. I knew the engine i could swap out but honestly im happy to make the switch to the 2.7. According to my gear code on the info label located on the door jamb i have a 4.56 gear. So i think im good there for my intentions with the taco. I wasnt sure about the driveshaft with it being an xtra cab. Or u joints. Or anything else for that matter. Other than wheels of course. Thanks for all the info ya'll! Guess i will be posting the 4runner in the classifieds to part it out after all. Naturally i will be cross referencing parts as i go hahaha!

Well you know how there's the tacorunner...... you could do the reverse and swap bumpers, fenders, grille, hood, lights and such you know if you felt like it.

Some stuff is different, a lot of it is the same. I sold my 01 Tacoma and bought a 00 4Runner just so I could swap a lot of my aftermarket parts over. CV's are the same (if both ADD), lower control arm, upper control arm, knuckles, ITR, steering rack, UBJ, front diff, etc. Front driveshaft may be the same depending on trans/transfer case setups of both veh's, a tape measure can confirm. Rear driveshaft is probably different. LBJ and OTR are different, but can be swapped out together. Rear ends are set up different, but the diff's are interchangeable if they both have the locker. Wont be interchangble if the runner is an open 8" and the Taco is an open 8.4". Lots of little things here and there too.
