Swapped my plugs and found this...

2007 V8 2WD


I changed my factory plugs today at 80k and found what I theorize as anti seize on the left plug and a bridge on the right. I have never seen a bridge on iridium before but this 4runner is a DD in some stop & go traffic. Anybody have any other theories?

Uncle Google says to clean the plug and reuse it. Electrode Gap Bridging. Thanks for the post, love learning new things and pictures even more- never know when it's gonna happen to you. You as in me. Or you as in whom is reading this, but not you the OP because it already happened to you. But not you as in me. I watch a lot of American Dad.

Plugs are way too cheap don't clean and re use that

Is there consensus on the forum on anti.seize? I hear both love and hate WRT iridiums. I still used it...

I used anti-seize but you have to lower your torque spec to account for the decreased friction in the threads to prevent over tightening.

If you use NKG plugs, don't use anti-seize. They already have a coating and there is a bulletin on their web site concerning it.

I used anti seize on mine and everytime I think about having to replace them I get nervous I'm hoping they come out fine

i always use NGKs. always use anti-seize. never had an issue.

its about time i did the honda's, maybe we'll see how they are after 70k...

I've always used anti seize on plugs with no issue. So the drive ability has improved, there were times when the engine lagged with hard acceleration, that's now gone and it idles smooth now where there was a slight bump when the ac was on. I'm going to check my plugs once a year from now on.
