Sway Bars yes or no ?

I am sorry if this question has been asked time and time again but I am new to the 4 runners. I never had a front sway bar on my tacoma and it was fine on the road and even better off road but i was wondering on the 4 runner how it does with out the front? and is anyone running with out any and how that is ?

Different for everyone. Just remove the two 14mm nuts on the endlinks and see if u like it. I've ran without front or rear in the past and its fine. Since I drive 60 mi a day for work now on the highway I have them back on

I'd leave them on. If you go off-road and want more flex, you only need to disconnect the link from one side to allow for full flex. They are designed to improve handling for on road driving, and if you mostly drive on road, I would definitely leave them on.

My wife has a stock 97 4runner with 265/70/16 Firestone Destination LEs and I have a 99 with OME lift and 265/75/16 mud terrains. I've taken off my front sway and have a good amount of body roll in turns. I always attributed it to the lack of sway bar. It made my wifes car feel like it was riding on rails compared to mine with her sway bar and stock ride height. This past week I was replacing the rotors / pads on her 4Runner and realized that neither of her sway bar links were attached and the upper bushing had wasted away. Conclusion: Tire selection and suspension are ~90% of body roll and sway bar is ~10%. If you are stock then it is almost irrelevant since you still have a rear sway bar. If you are more than stock then I would try it for a week with them disconnected to see if you like it.

Tacomas didn't have a rear SB because the back is lighter than a 4runner.

Also a rig on soft stock coils will sway more than the heavier coils that we use for lifting.

On road, I have both front and rear on. Offroad, I remove one the front links (one for single day trips, both for multi-day trips). I have welded tabs onto the bottom ball end so I can take them off easily with 14mm & 17mm wrenches.

I have driven on road without a front swaybar and it wasn't too bad but if I had to do an evasive maneuver, things would be different.

I have heard that running w/o F&R can be real scary.
