Honestly, Mr. Koertge's YouTube videos are what put the Toyota 4Runner on my radar and I've got to thank him for that. I owe him a debt of gratitude. I love this vehicle.

I enjoy his videos, don't understand the childish hate though. I've been wrenching for about 30 years and it's cool learning new things. Don't like it? Move the f*%K on!....Done!

The moment he started identifying as an "overlander" despite going on well known and well populated 4x4 trails and promoting $5 cucumber shower wipes was the moment I lost interest.

Not much love for the overlanding scene, huh? Can't blame you. I cringe a bit when I hear people utter the word, but I've used it myself just because I know certain people will instantly paint this picture of who you may be just based on that one word. Roll with it I say. Hammocking, overlanding, backpacking ... all spawns of "camping" LOL

I think this goes deeper into today's mindset. So many people have grown up NOT getting punched in the face for being a d!(k that they think it's okay to say whatever you want. Then add that if you don't believe the same as them then you are "against" them. I'm not sure what happened to "live and let live".

I'm not saying everyone has to agree on everything, what I'm saying is if you don't like something I like, I don't care and neither should you. There is no reason why you should feel compelled to change my mind.

If someone wants to call themselves an overlander it's nobody's job to say they aren't. In today's world you can identify as a fluffy bunny and get less grief than calling yourself and overlander.

I'm all for a healthy debate but there's a time and place for everything.

Jason, you do you, plenty of people enjoy it.

You are putting yourself out there for everyone to see and act surprised when not everyone likes it? Seriously, people are actually begging for opinions(when all they really want is praise) and then get their feelings hurt when people give it.

Love the vids and the rig, Jason. Please keep making them. I so enjoy when youtubers actually make longer videos. I hate nothing more than a 5 minute video about a trip. Longer, show length, content is where it's at.

Agree. Too many internet tough guys.
Why don't all you cats *****ing about his content ask for a refund with the cost associated with watching his videos OR how about you put up some content of your own that you feel is worth while OR be pleasant to the guy, again he is a harmless soul.

How can you "beg for opinions" and "only want praise" at the same time? Posting on IG is looking for praise, but I digress.
There are threads where people are asking for opinions, then by all means give them yours. All I'm saying is it would be a lot more pleasant place if people would keep their negativity to themselves.

Taking the time to document and write up your work and trips is sharing, it's incredibly tedious to do the how-to videos and threads. It's my experience that most people that do them are doing so in hopes that it will help someone else. Maybe someone will learn something or draw some inspiration from a build thread. I know I do a lot of reading on here before I make any sizable purchases for my rig. Sure, some threads are more helpful than others and I might even find the way NOT to do something through someone else' trials, even if they like what they did. But if they like what they did, who am I to take that away from them?

LOL Seriously, not even in the same ball park. I'm baggin on people for being @$$es, really has nothing to do with Jason.
I don't do the whole crowd funding thing, but I would think there are thousands of youtube subs for every patreon pledge..? Don't really know or care.

We are going to have to agree to disagree since we see opposite sides of the coin. I'll leave it at that.
