About 30K in on my 07 Limited. Considering changing the diff's and transfer case to synthetic lube. Is there any "friction modifier" or the like involved in the change? Does anyone have the capacities for drain and refill?
I am still a bit confused. I have read and re-read all the threads about changing the fluids. My question is this:
On my 07, V8 Limited AWD, is there an friction-modifier added to the diffs? There seems to be a lot of confusion as to the "type" of limited-slip mechanisms used. Without traditional LS in the diff (then being accomplished via the VSC) there would NOT be a need for the modifier. I am just not sure if there is a traditional LS working in my 07 or not.
No limited-slip additive required... You are correct about us having open diffs that with the aid of the brakes function as LSD diffs. The same is true for the t-case.
I think the manual still references it because it's put together via a lot of copy/paste and in other countries they don't have the alphabet soup of traction enhancement devices. They still have old school drivetrains that probably include a LSD option.
