T4R rear wheel offroader?

so first off i just want to know if its suitable for a 2005 rear wheel 4runner v6 to be offroading. What kinds of mods should i install such as lift kits(preferred brands?),etc.

this is no spam at all, but i made this new website called japanautotune and I was wondering if ya'll would be so kind to check it out, its a forums website that is my dream to have people be using...

What kind of offroading? We need to know that before making any suggestions. You really don't even need a lift to off road. I went on a beach this weekend with soft sand and did fine with no lift

Yeah you can get by on some decent trails with 2WD, I'm not a hardcore off-roader (although I might be if I had 4wd...) but I have been on a few trails and gotten tons of strange looks when I say it's just 2WD.

Mine is only modestly lifted with 1" taller than stock tires. If I were to add a rear locker and 33s I don't think I'd have any trouble except on very difficult trails.

The only major problem, for my uses, is lack of low range as there are a few trails I'd like to have tried that require low range for descents.

If you have a choice go with 4wd but if not 2wd should get you most places you need to go as long as you don't go crazy.

Check out MysticZ and BajaRunner's builds over on toyota120.com if you're interested. They both have much more intense 2wd builds than mine and hit a lot of hardcore stuff... Although a couple years ago Mystic did convert his to 4WD and Baja sold his a while back.

edit- I should add that I'm not afraid to use the skinny pedal when need be.
