T4R redemption - Land cruiser detour

After having a detour into the Land Cruiser world I'm back.
Sold the 4th gen T4R and tried a Camry Hybrid for a while, but it was not my lifestile, and the money spent on gas was not as important after all . Then started with an FJ80 and quickly moved into an FJ60 to turn around back to the 4th Gen T4R.
All of a sudden it feels like having a 4x4 with less than 200K miles, gives you a sense of reliability that pushes you to make longer trips with less worry.
Got an 2004 SR5 T4R 4x4, Grey Mica with little over 100K miles. Everything works and seems well cared for.

Glad to hear another 60 owner is here on T4R,just like you i'm a noob here but been around Toyota long enough.I still drive my 93 hilux and Landcruiser (60) and i finally got a hold of a 99 Sr5 about a week ago.i had a 91 Sr5 that i sold to my friends son early this year due to the fact my wife won't drive a stick i love that thing and just finished doing a complete cylinder head overhaul.i miss it but i have to move on with this 99 since it will need some work it is seeping coolant into one of the cylinders,i will post this on my build thread soon.:moping:

Your story sounds similar to mine. My wife had a 2001 4runner that she totaled in in 2009. We loved it so much that we went out and bought another 3rd gen with the insurance money. I totaled my 2003 camry later in 2009 and thought I have to get a 3rd gen because I was so tired of a soul-less, lower-case "C", basic, boring car. The gas money wasn't worth the lack of life in driving that thing. Wouldn't trade my 4runner for anything now.

Did you wheel both the FJs and 4runner? How different did they feel?
