T4R suddenly lost power while driving

While driving to work this morning my truck lost power and I wasn't able to accelerate anymore. Luckily, I was able to make it out of the busy intersection and off the main road. I came to a full stop, engine seemed to die. I turned the ignition to off, then started it again. It ran for a couple seconds, going up to about 1500 rpm and them immediately dropped to 0 and died. The check engine, oil light, and oil temp light came on.

Had it towed to my mechanic, who had to push the truck into the shop, because it wouldn't start at all (not that it would've ran anyway, but it didn't even start this time). I just got a call from my guy, he said that it's the fuel pump, but he can't determine why the other lights came on until he can get the truck to run.

Would these lights have come on because of the fuel pump issue, or could there be more problems? And of course with luck, there's no fuel pump available anywhere near me, so it has to be shipped

Still new to the 4th gen 4runners, but on my older Lexus, when the available power from battery and alternator drops below a certain level, all kinds of lights come on.

But on second thought, if the starter is turning over and just not starting, then completely different problem. Hope the fuel pump is it.

Thanks man, hopefully it's just the fuel pump. I've been saving for an Old Man Emu lift and was finally going to pull the trigger on it next paycheck...until this happened :dammit:

My fathers tundra had a weird symptom where if he accelarated , his temp gauge will jump to high and low like it was nothing. Headlights were flickering on and off. Then when we got home, luckily the engine died there.

We found what was making his truck possessed like it had some kind of evil demon, it was a faulty battery. The heat can really drain the batteries, but I didn't know it can trip the Instrument Cluster and make everything go crazy like that.
