T4R Uwharrie National Forest Run 11/29/14

Organizing a run the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Post here if you can make it and I'll keep this post up to date. Will post with meet up time, etc. as we finalize details. For now post here if you're interested in coming. Invite friends if you'd like and let us know so that we can add them.

UPDATE 11/7/14

- Let's set the meeting time for 0830 of course at the ole Eldorado Outpost.

- If you have a CB radio bring it. If you have walkie talkies, bring them. If your CB radio sucks balls and nobody can understand you on it, have it tuned prior to the trip. If you mumble when you talk over coms... Don't.

Yea I started taking apart the red one. If the '87 isn't ready, I'll see if I can come out and ride along, spot, and take pictures.

There are always rigs with seats that need asses. Mine included. So get your beast ready to roll or come along for the ride either way man!

Can you guys speak to this? I just bought a 14 trail and am looking forward to testing its limits but its pretty much stock at this point-including the crappy Dunlop tires. Thanks!

Yeah, I'd agree that you'd want at least slight mods done for the most part. There are parts of the trail system that are doable stock. I think the ground clearance (break-over) is probably what would get you in the most trouble. There are a lot of just hilly berms along the way that a low vehicle could drag or get hung up on, especially if you've got stock running boards or something. Those tires will hurt you as well, because it is pretty rocky terrain that can be very rough on highway tires.

The first time I rode URE, was on a spacer lift and some all terrain tires and was able to do fine on the easy to moderate trails.

I think the TE would do ok and I'm sure it's a very capable vehicle, but I'd hate to see you get out there unprepared and damage that pretty new truck. I'd suggest you come and do a ride along at least just so that you can see what you'd be up against. Then if you're feeling froggy or comfy, maybe test her out on some of the easier stuff.

BTW, I went out for years stock and had to teeter over most of the berms. Scrapping the stock skids. Hitting them at an angle helps but you will need to ditch the running boards for sure and stick to the easy trails.

You should come out!! I will be on stock tires and height. There are some trails you can do plus riding along with other people is a blast.

Updated original post with additional info updated list. List is growing nicely! Bigger run than we're used to, but should be a great time.

Nice to see we got a few 5th Gen TE coming along for the fun. I've been wanting to wheel with one for years now.

I took mine down there stock and ran most trails (except Daniel) with no serious issues. Pick good lines and you should be fine.
