Next I need you guys to specify which grouping that you'd like to run with "A" or "B".

Lastly, if you think that this is a bad idea and you do not want to split up and would rather try to stay together as one big group, please mention it here. But know in doing so, that you opt to go wherever the group leaders decide to take you and we will be in no way held responsible for any damage that may occur out there. And I'm not saying that to scare anybody off, we'll be there to help you and guide you (and repair you if need be), but I want to be realistic about it.

Once I receive everyone's feedback, I'll update the original post with group and leader information. Looking forward to it gents!

I think this is a great idea! You tend to run into issues when groups are too big especially if everybody has different experience levels as well as truck capabilities. We ran into this problem one of the last times i was at Rausch creek for a event, the one day we had 11 in our group and sometimes people would fall back a little and it's hard to keep track of everybody if we don't all have the same form of communication CBs/walkies etc. Also you cover a lot more ground in smaller groups which mean a lot more wheeling time in which equals :biggrin2::banana::bluejump: Maybe can set a up a meet location somewhere halfway thru the day to meet up and break for lunch so we can all grub together,but the 2 group leaders would really have to know the location so idk just an idea.

The only issue running two groups is that a good many of the dudes that come to wheel with less purpose built rigs do want to see what these trucks are capable of both in there own setup and perhaps future setups they may be interested.

So if you take group A up danials while group B hits falls dam then group B doesn't get the opportunity to see the cool stuff so to say..

In times passed I've done a decent job of leading everyone around starting with the less technical trails giving everyone the chance to warm up to the more challenging obstacles. This takes everyone around the whole park, then we can all break for lunch. Giving us the opportunity to re group and see who wants to take on some more difficult trails and gives the guys that don't have the more advanced rigs the chance to jump in the passenger seat of the guys that want to hit the harder trails..

I drive fast so if anyone doesn't want to get lost they'll have to keep up this keeps the pace moving.. If I have anything to say about it everyone will get more than enough trail time to be happy with the day out there. We can always break up into smaller groups if this becomes and issue while we're out there.

The hardest thing about large groups is passing other trail ridders going in the opposite direction. I'm hoping with it being the saturday after thanksgiving the park won't be that crowded.
 
I agree with everything that has been said, we should definitely break off in 2 groups for the majority of the day. I have been on every trail except daniel, dickey bell and dutch. I want to stay away from them with my rig this trip too but would like to ride with somebody to see what our rigs will do.

With that being said, I want to be in group B and dont mind taking lead if nobody else in group B has been out there before.

more or less. Danials used to have a by pass but the Wildlife association made us close it down because it was causing "erosion". The trail difficulties levels are set based on how difficult they "can" be, say if its raining slippery conditions. When the park is dry you can pretty much take a stock rig through 90% of the park...

As long as the right lines are taken just about any truck can get through all the trails except danials. even then those vehicles can go up the back side and still get to enjoy the scenic overlook that makes the trip worth taking.

For those that haven't been in a while, they have closed the rocky mountain loop trail basically on both sides of kodak rock area so you have to utilize the other trails to get through and around the park. Also, danials is not as gnarly as it used to be they've filled in the major ledges on the front side of the mountain to get grading equipment up to the top of the trail system to make repairs.

Another point to keep in mind if at any part of any of the trails anyone feels there vehicle need not go further, there is usually a place within 20ft of you to turn around.


Typically I take a look at all the vehicles that are running in the group and keep everyones needs in mind when selecting trail directions and trails in general. I wouldn't lead anyones 5th gen to there first body shop visit on my watch.

That's what others have told me, and I do have a slight lift and 32's but last time I did rocky mountain loop in august, it was really rutted out on the top side of the loop and the rocky descent was a little sketchy. I'm sure my vehicle is capable, but I'm not comfortable enough to risk tearing anything up. especially since I'm in college and it's my dd

I usually climb that side of rocky mountain loop its much more simple than trying to slide down it.
 
I wont be bringing my 4runner for this run. I think ill bring the toyota pickup, it has done every trail at URE. I honestly would prefer to stay in the group taking it a bit easier with t4rghost this time around as I dont wanna tear anything up. With that said though, I'd like to try to go up the backside (easier side) of daniel and then turn around if everyone agrees with it.
 
sounds like a great trip. I am planning on showing up and looking to ride with the B group on the milder trails, and if possible ride along in one of the more modded rigs on daniel. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Watch out for a bunch of TacomaWorld guys again, theres going to be a decent group out there all weekend.
