Tacoma fender flares?

I've been thinking about installing the sr5 black fender flares on my rig but I know they don't go all the way down without front mudflaps or the running boards still on. However I noticed that tacomas don't have this problem and was wondering if anyone knew if the tacoma fender flares were cross compatible?

I dont know if the Tacoma's are compatible, but have you seen the bushwacker flares? They are similar to the sport/limited fender flares.

I wish but I don't quite want them enough to justify spending $480 on them. If the Tacoma ones aren't compatible I'll just find the original fender flares at the junk yard or off a fellow t4r member.

Park next to a 1st gen Tacoma 4WD/PreRunner and check it out. I did a quick look a while back and it didn't look like an easy swap, but I don't want to be the definitive word on it...
