Tall Folks in 3rd Gens?

I'm 6'1" and have never hit my head on the roof... Wtf am I doing wrong?

That said, I drive like a grandma with the seat not even close to all the way back, and my back fairly straight. Because of this I find that my legs get pretty restless, and on LONG trips the right side of my knee bothers me where it hits the center console.

How do you drive with the seat not all the way back?? I'm 5'11" and I always have my seat all the way back.

I don't have a sunroof in my 3rd gen so I can't comment on headroom with one, but I know my mom's 4th gen that has a sunroof I can feel my hair touching it when I drive it sometimes. I also don't mess with her seat adjustment other than moving it back so I can actually sit in the seat and drive haha

I'm 6' and I feel I sit a bit high but not too bad. I have a moonroof that was installed at the dealer, it doesn't seem to protrude down as far as the factory ones (looked at both when shopping).
I will say that I came out of a 2013 Tacoma and that had less headroom. The slope of the windshield made me always hunch over to see out. The 4th gen was very similiar when I checked it out.
You will likely be too tall to sleep in the back comfortably (dunno if that matters to you).

I'm 6'4" about 195lbs, I've never hit my head on the ceiling or anything of that sort. Only time I ever feel snug is when I put cruise control on and bring my feet towards the base of the seat so my knees bend more. Besides that, no fitment issues, even with a sunroof.

My dad is 6'9", skinny though, and fits just fine(sort of). His knees are pretty much on the dash but that's with most cars and he doesn't mind it as much on road trips and what not. The center consule area, extended up past the cup holders and radio, are relatively slim compared to some cars. This allows you to atleast bend your knees out towards the side and center of the vehicle.

My only complaint is that both my driver and passenger seats are pushed all the way back and you sometimes you can't fold down the back seats because they want to rub up on the back of the front seats.

I am 6'3 and 350 and I fit in mine comfortable. Even when I wear my work boots I didn't have to get in all side saddle like I have to my stupid subaru.

Hey all,

I've decided a 2001-02 4runner is my next vehicle, but being tall (6'5") I am wondering if I will even fit. I haven't even started shopping yet, and don't want to waste anyone's time looking to sell one if I don't physically fit. I plan on having it for long time, so long term comfort is a must. Would I be better off with a 4th gen, or will the 3rd work for me?

I'm 6'4", I have about two inches between my noggin and the sunroof trim. It's not a problem except when I'm wheeling and a rough jolt can put my head into the roof. I have plenty of legroom.

If you go for a 3rd gen, try and find one without the sunroof and you'll have a little more room.

It'll be uncomfortable for you in a 4th gen (w/ moonroof) if you're 6'5". I'm 6'2" and with my seat all the way down and adjusting the back so I can still see the road, I still bump my head on the ceiling all the time.
