Tapping DOM

Who can give me some pointers on tapping DOM tubing? I'm need to tap some with 1-14 thread, and 7/8-14 thread.

Why wouldn't it be the same as tapping anything else? It's not high strength or any kind of fancy material/processing.

It's a matter of making sure everything is level. I know you can chuck the DOM in a lathe, and use the center point on the head stock to hold the tap. This would hold the tap perfectly level with the DOM, and would give you a straight hole. My problem is that the center bore on my lathe is not large enough, and I don' feel like shelling out money for a larger 3 piece chuck.

Trying to manually turn a 1-14 tap while trying to keep is completely level is pretty tough.
