Just wondering if anyone can send me a link to a DIY thread to wire in a TCS off switch? I know the fjc's are very simple to do this tcs off button mod and just want to know how I can do it to my 4th gen!

I may be wrong but i thought all 4 gens had traction control off switches. The switch with the icon of rear wheels getting squirrelly. Vehicle stability control is a another story. What year is your 4r? Up to '07 require mods but '08 and newer is push button.

Sorry I must have meant VSC (assuming vehical stability control is just a fancy name for traction control) I live in a snowy climate and its a pain in the ass that I have to put my runner in 4wd and lock the center diff to get unstuck! If i just put it in 4wd without locking the center diff my runner just applies the brakes as soon as I start to spin. Ive been stuck in some pretty pathetic and embarrassing situations that I should not have had to even put my runner in 4wd to get out of because of VSC!! I will be doing this mod asap!! thanxx for the link!

Just disconnect one of the sensors on top of the engine to get the CEL to come on, and it'll turn off the VSC and TC. Then just plug it back in. It'll take maybe 2 cycles to turn off.

With the mod above, the truck will still apply brakes to the spinning wheel to redirect torque to the other side. Which will prevent the "one wheel wonder" that can get you stuck in embarrassing situations.

You want VSC off which stops the engine dethrottle that can get annoying.

You can always apply power while ATRAC is operating, VSC you cannot.
