Teenage 'Runner Stealthbox Etc.

Anyways.
2000 4Runner base model, 4x4, 5 speed, 3RZ.
I'm mid-build on a homemade stealthbox of ~0.85 cubic feet tuned to just under 30 Hz with a 3" by 27" PVC port, designed with WinISD Alpha. I'll be running an RE Audio SRX10D4 (10 inch, dual 4 ohm voice coils) on an MB Quart fx1.400. JBL components are on their way, as are cables for the big 3, and a USB for ipod connection. Scion (Pioneer) t1815 installed last week.

The first thing to go in was the Scion t1815. Remember, I'm a teenager. I lurked the thread for a while, and found the scion head units. I saw that they were plug and play, sounded great, and were cheap. I pounced on the first well-priced one I found on Ebay with the features I wanted, before I read into the slight problems with them. The first thing I found out was this...

This meant trimming, which I didn't necessarily want to do, but why not? With some help from dad (how many guys get to say that?), we got it fitting and jamming.

I'm aware that it's quite the hack job, but some trim molding should do the trick.

Next problem... It said iPod connection and control... WHERE?

Here. A USB is in the mail now, I'll be soldering together my own sync cable to save myself ~$70.

i dont let my dad help all that much, mainly cause i dont trust him with a wrench near my vehicles -long story not for here. but my father in-law, well now thats another story, 30+ years as a toyota tech yeah ill gladly work with him any day on my truck and jump at the chance to work with him, sometimes i even delay doing things i could do and should do just to work with him and learn the "old dog" tricks...

My dad worked for an install company when he was younger, he had his fair share of CB and stereo installs.

Day One: Cut and start construction

By far my favorite tool/accessory has to be this saw guide. It makes it incredibly easy to make straight, long cuts across sheet wood. If you don't have one, you should!

You can never have enough Titebond. Brad nails help hold it all together with the NH temperature/humidity changes.

Day Two Today was pretty much a continuation of day one when it comes to the enclosure. Glue, clamp, brad, glue, clamp, brad.

The wiring kit came today, as well as the cables for the big three. The wiring kit is a KnuKonceptz KCA 8 Gauge Kit. Good quality for the price. The 8 gauge is actually 8 gauge! :usa2: The cables I bought for the big three are pure 4 gauge copper, also made by Knukoncepts. I checked the lengths when they arrived. They gave me a couple inches of extra black cable, and the perfect amount of red! :thanks:

Another thing I forgot to add earlier, I decided to fill in that random pit in the dash, as it was an out of the way place to put the remote dial for the sub amp. The hole on the right is the CB, taken out for now while the dash is coming off and on daily. It'll be back in before next week

i like the concept, probably because i have one myself. ill have to get some pictures up here of it. im running a psi 10" with an 1800 watt hyfonics amp. built the box to be tuned to 36 hz. cant wait to see it once its finished.
